Cities
Cities in Malaysia are governed and managed by the local authorities. There are a total of 154 local authorities in Malaysia comprising of cities, municipal and district councils. The National Low Carbon Cities Masterplan identified 33 local authorities as the first group to implement mitigation measures or initiatives to transform their cities, towns and urban areas into low carbon. These cities will be working together towards achieving ambitious absolute carbon reduction targets.
