About Us

The Malaysian Low Carbon Cities Network (MyLCCN) is a dynamic digital platform, designed specifically to allow key stakeholders a common, centralized venue to network, achieve consensus and cooperate with each other. By linking the key drivers behind city growth, Malaysia can make greater strides towards achieving higher absolute carbon reductions and wider sustainable developments throughout cities.

MyLCCN’s story began back in 2021, when UNDP, Global Environment Facility, Ministry of Environment & Water and SEDA Malaysia via Green Technology Application for the Development of Low Carbon Cities project began committing resources towards the transformation of the MyLCCN project online portal. In line with the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12), this platform is designed with the aim of strengthening each cities’ sustainability initiatives by encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing between cities, as well as facilitating public-private sustainability partnerships in Malaysia.

Cities around the world faced a common conundrum – They are both the key to equitable growth and prosperity as well as being major contributors to carbon emissions. With major population centres beginning to feel the brunt of the ever-worsening climate, the time has come for Malaysian cities to join hands towards absolute carbon reduction and help each other achieve sustainability in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Only with communication and cooperation can cities hope to achieve considerable gains in the fight against Climate Change.
MyLCCN is the platform for city planners, town officials, local champions, experts as well as the private sector to network, share insights and complement each other towards absolute carbon reduction targets as outlined in the National Low Carbon Cities Masterplan.
